Final work

Our group is finally done by linking all the links and embed all the videos, navigation buttons and flash. We have done the homepage, contact us and about us page too. Here are the screenshots of the our work:

We put all the flash in the photo gallery link and video in video clips link.

We are now considered done with the website. After this, we have to do our individual reports and combining all the files into one folder.

Work in Progress (PART 3)

Since we are now in holiday, we can't meet face to face to discuss. Hence, we proceed our works by contact each other with sending text message, email and facebook. Here we come to the final stage of our final assignment, we have to combine all the links together. Somehow, we face some problems on the way too.

Problems:
1. The webpage layout cannot fit in perfectly with the contents we have. The layout background position will be duplicated since we use a image background.
2. The member can't get full understanding about the ideas.

We came out with some solutions then. Members are advised to put their contents in the tab form or flash or reduce the less important contents. We also make some changes in the background too. Whereas, for the ideas problem, we tried our best to a balance understanding by having a person in charge of combining all links together and make final correction to all the links.

We have came out with our final template ( website layout ). This is the template that we going to use for our entire website.

Work in Progress (PART 2)

We are now at the half way of completing the final assignment. In between, we decide to apply flash in designing our website. We plan to add video, animation and interactive to our web pages.

The flash will be used in:
 1. Creating a flash movie that plays animation formed by several images of scenes in Bukit Bendera.
2. Creating an interactive navigation by making flash buttons.
3.  Adding the movie and buttons into the web pages.

Milestones: Carry out and add flash into web pages to make the websites more interactive to the audience.



 

Work in Progress ( PART 1)

As approaching to the final work, each member are required to carry out the progress for their own parts. Here are the job tasks that should be completed in the progress:
1.Find all the information needed for the content in each web pages.
2. Edit all the images used in the websites.
3. Start doing the websites in html. by using Dreamweaver.
4. Input all the contents and images done into the webpages.

GUI design

We come out with the GUI design after a few discussion.

Below is the overall GUI design (draft) for our websites. This is the concept that we will keep all the member related to each other.

We then decide to do a special GUI for the homepage as the homepage is the first page that will be first observed by the audiences. The homepage will be a brief viewing of our links in our websites. The audience can enter to respective link just by clicking the links in the respective box (subtopic).

Unfortunately, we face some problems in processing this HOME GUI in our website. Due to the layout size of the website, we then changed the alignment of the box (buttons). Here is the final HOME GUI of our website.

Flow chart

The flow chart above shown how our group will carry out during the completing of final assignment. Each member will do their own link based on the flows. Since our group is doing Bukit Bendera, the flow definitely is started from the main topic--Bukit Bendera. It then will continued by the 5 subtopics: introduction, attraction, facilities, how to go and accommodation. Each member is assigned to extend the flow by creating at least one title (main point) which is able to bring out the information related to Bukit Bendera efficiently. The members can go further into their parts by referring to this chart.

Objectives

• Introduce the attractive point of Bukit Bendera, Penang.
• Introduce the historical background Bukit Bendera, Penang.
• Promote Bukit Bendera as a main tourism place in Penang for tourists.
• Display the beautiful scene of Bukit Bendera.
• Enhance the usage of Photoshop and dream weaver and flash throughout the website.

Idea that we will developed and reasons :

As our tutorial group had selected the topic of STATE. Our team came out with an idea to describe about the unique characteristic of Penang throughout the introduction of Bukit Bendera, Penang. During this first meeting of our team, we had come out with several sub topics for each member to be done efficiently. Our team plan to introduce the history, culture, architectural style and tourist attraction in Bukit Bendera, Penang.  Every sub topic will be done by each team member. The reason why we choose Bukit Bendera, Penang is because it is the most popular destination and it is also one of the trademarks of Malaysia which attract lots of tourists from local and foreigner too.

Demographics of end-users

• Target audience:  All generations
• Characteristics: People with computer and modern equipment. More preferable of media –rich and multimedia-oriented application.
• Design/development: Included more of the interactive multimedia application in the website. Hence, we will create the website in a simple and user-friendly layout to enhance the usage of users.

• How to go – Give the information about how to reach Penang.
• Attraction – List out the activities and attractive points of Bukit Bendera, Penang.
